Issue:

No Applications are downloading to clients from publishing server.

When trying to Syn-AppVPublishingServer, The following errors will appear in AppV Admin Event Log on the client:-

HttpRequest sendRequest failed.

Accessing the XML file through http://[APPV PUB Server]:[PUB PORT] displays the XML file correctly with assigned applications for the user.

Solution:

Reviewing Internet Explorer setting it was discovered that IE Proxy settings where blank although XML file was accessible and external sites where fine.

It was identified that there was a “\” included in the proxy exception (i.e server1.complany1.com/;) which was being published by Group Policy preference which appears to totally corrupt the IE exception or prevent the bypass for the local traffic from being applied.

Once this was removed the Proxy settings appeared in IE. It appears this may only appear to IE11 as older version seems to be able to handle the “\” ok.

 

After that AppV Sync was functioning and working again.
