The following details a methods of disabling OneDrive Sync & Panel from File Explorer.
This both disable accessing OneDrive but also removes the OneDrive Icon from File Explorer
Add the following registry entry (although this appears to be called out as not working on a number of different blogs i have tested and worked without any issue):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive "DisableFileSync"=dword:1
NOTE: The OneDrive icon will still appear on
Tested on
- Windows 10 Enterprise – 1607 (Anniversary Edition)
- Windows 10 Enterprise – 1703 (Creators Edition)
I for some reason there is no such record in the register?
Hi Edan,
You’ll need to create this key in the registry if not already there.
Cheers,
David
